July 1st 1797 In Obedience to an Order of the Southampton Court bearing date June Court 1796 We the Subscribers have Examined Account Current of the estate of Richard Halcomb decd and find it fairly stated as above Benja Ruffin Philip Davis At a court held for the County of Southampton on 17th day uf 1797 This Account Current of the estate of Richard Halcomb was returned and Ordered to be Recorded Sam Kello CC ========================================================================================== In the Name of God Amen the twenty ninth the Day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety five I Richard Williams of County of Southampton being weak in body but sound in mind and memory do constitute make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner & form following Vtz Item: I lend unto my beloved wife Rachel Williams my Land and Plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred & Eleven acres more or less during her single life or widowhood also I lend unto my sᵈ wife Rachel Williams one feather bed and furniture one cow and calf one mare one half of my Pewter one Pot one Sow and Pigs during her single life or widowhood Item: I give unto my said wife Rachel Williams two Barrels of Corn and four hundred of pork & also I her legacy left by her mother Nancy Atkins Item: I give and bequeath unto my son George Williams after her death or marriage by said wife Rachel Williams but my Land and Plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred & Eleven acres more or less to him and his heirs forever also to Pewter dishes and half dozen Pewter plates one pewter basin one large pot and one small blue chest one horse one cow and calf one sow and pigs one bed and furniture they and their increase to him and his heirs forever I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Williams one feather bed and furniture to she and her heirs forever and my will and desireis that the remainder part of my stock that I have not will'd away Should be sold and the money arising there from should be Equally divided between my two children Elizabeth & George Williams and my will and desire is that the remainder park my household and kitchen furniture that I have will'd away should be kept for Heirs of my two children Elizabeth and George Williams when they come of age to them and their heirs forever I give and devise and bequeath unto my two children Elizabeth and George Williams after the death or marriage of my sᵈ wife Rachel Williams one feather bed and furniture one cow and calf one mare one half of my pewter one pot and ???
